White Hills Posh Club, Sharm El Sheikh Review

We have had two fairly significant and pricey holidays in 2024 and 2025, and whilst I was desperate to return to the Maldives, we did the grown-up thing and looked to book a holiday that was at a more reasonable cost. What did we want from this holiday? The easy answer was nothing, meaning we wanted to flop for a week, which is something that we very rarely do.

Apart from Spain, where my parents had a home for many years, we very rarely go back to the same place twice. I was about to say that Sharm was the only place we had been to more than once, however, thinking about it, I realise that my other half, the Irishman and I have been to Vegas together twice. Although I would note that our second trip in 2025 wasn’t the first choice of the Irishman! See my USA 2025 trip review to see how I managed to convince him (I think he thinks I manipulated the travel plans!) to go back a second time!

This is our third time to Sharm. Our first ever holiday together was to Sharm, and we returned 10 years ago.

Why did we book Sharm? No long-haul flight, no jet lag, no long drive on the other side, a weather guarantee and great value for money. It’s easy.

We booked through BA Holidays and did not shop around as we have been proactively working on my Avios earnings. Would love to one day earn that gold status!

Being there:

We were staying at White Hills and as part of our room type package, we had complimentary airport pick up and drop off which I arranged via email.

I had originally booked Meraki, which is next door and a sister hotel to White Hills. Thankfully, TikTok picked up on this and to my horror some foam party and pool party clips came across my scrolls. Realised it was a clubbing hotel. I may have been able to dust off my party bikini (or tankini at my age), but no way that the Irishman would have coped. One call to BA Holidays and had rebooked with White Hills.

We arrived at Sharm El Sheikh (SSH) Airport, and we had booked a fast-track option with Pearl. See my review for full details. A hotel car and driver were waiting for us as we exited the terminal and within 5 mins we were in the back of a Merc completing the 15min drive to the hotel.

We booked a swim-up room junior suite, and when booking a suite, you book what they call Posh Club (PC). Posh Club- a bit of a pretentious name and slightly cringe if I am honest. However, straight away from arrival, I am liking PC. Our Merc takes us past the main hotel entrance and drives down through the resort, and we get dropped off at the PC reception and lounge. Nice.

We are sat down in very white seats (funny that, but as time goes on, we realise that everything is white in White Hills) by a (white) coffee table. We are checked in by Talal who turns out to be one of the best things about booking with PC. He checks us in with a glass of fizz, takes our phones and sets us up with WiFi, his WhatsApp number and the resort app. We don’t need to do anything apart from put our squiggle on a piece of paper.

Off we go to our room (very white), and it’s everything I expected. Great sea view, nice and spacious. One thing they don’t tell you on the website is about your mini bar. Soft drinks, crisps, beer and wine. And a full-sized bottle of local whiskey, vodka, rum, gin and sparkling wine. Blimey!

The resort is 5 stars but 5 star in Egypt is not the same as 5 star in Dubai or the Maldives. Everything is spotlessly clean and well-presented but finishes and fixtures and fittings are slightly older and slightly worn. Construction finishes (Irishman’s forte) are poor.

PC has it’s own restaurant, bar and pool area that is separate to the rest of the resort, which is pretty big. Our swim-up pool area and the main pool are quiet and very relaxed.

This is what we enjoyed most about what we had booked. It was quieter and smaller, boutique-esque if you like. That being said, if you like to have a busier atmosphere, White Hills offers this too, just outside of PC, which as a suite guest, you have full access to.

There are several different places to eat, and as part of our PC all-inclusive package, we could eat at all of them free of charge, apart from one- Felucca, their seafood restaurant.

There is one main restaurant as part of the resort (Boscage), which is your typical buffet, live cooking station type of set-up however, all the other restaurants are a la carte. We didn’t eat breakfast or dinner at Boscage, but I did have a wander up one morning to check out the spread and there was pretty much everything you could wish for. We ate at PC lounge for our breakfast and two of our dinners. Breakfast a la carte and a great selection and plenty of everything.

There was a decent choice of a la carte restaurants, from Asian to Indian to Mediterranean. The Indian was our favourite. All the restaurants are – yep, you guessed it, all very white.

There is a house reef, and a compact beach – lots of sunbeds and not a lot of open sand space, which we were used to as part of our previous two Sharm visits.  The times I wandered down it were a hive of activity- the water was perfect, crystal clear and a decent house reef to pootle around. Dive club available with plenty of water sports on offer. If dancing on the beach with selected hosted and team lead activities is your thing, then check out the schedule, plenty on offer. Not my idea of preference and the sort of thing that would bring the Irishman out in hives.

On our first morning, the Irishman went out for a run. For those of you that are runners whilst there is a gym, you can run outside the resort, and the Irishman was able to run 10 clicks out and back on pathways.

He ran and I settled down on our patio and my sunbed. We are yin and yang but it has worked for over 16 years.

There isn’t a huge amount of privacy on the patios between the rooms. A small amount of greenery, but you can see clearly one another’s patio.

I was lying on my sunbed and starting to really relax.

And then the back leg of my sunbed snapped suddenly.

This caused the entire sunbed to flip backwards violently, me backwards off the bed, legs flipped high in the air, a backwards roly-poly if you like,  spilling my drink all over myself and letting out a fairly audible yelp.

I lay there, like a turtle stuck on its back, wondering if by the grace of god the neighbouring residents hadn’t noticed. Not a chance. They would have heard it and seen it – but to my relief, they ignored the debacle whilst I  managed to roll over and dust myself off. I tried to do so, under the cover of a small stalk of a palm plant, but knew they could see my entire plight. Urgh, just so #bridgetjonesmoment.

I requested a new bed, and the lifeguard looked at the broken one and said to use it and ‘just be careful’. Not sure what he thought I was doing on it when it broke.

Politely but firmly stated I wasn’t going to use the bed again. I was offered a bandage, but declined as a bandage was not going to fix my embarrassment.

The spa.

One thing I had promised myself was several massages throughout the week. They were around 80 USD each.
So my massage was probably one of the worst massages I have ever had.

Questionable privacy, slapdash and without care is how I would describe the experience.

The worst of it was that we booked a package of three. Oh, hang on, no it gets worse.

The next massage was worse than the first.  I originally gave further details of the experience but decided to omit them. Don’t want to sound like a moaning minnie.

In utter fairness, when we did feedback (we were asked how our massages were by the PC team, so we were honest) a massive effort was made to make it right. All we wanted was a refund of the third massage we had yet to receive at this point, and this was provided. Along with some comp honey body butter.

The PC Team. Have nothing but fab things to say. Our hot drink and juice choice was asked for on breakfast morning one. Didn’t have to ask again, they remembered- thank you Hossam. The Irishman never had to ask for his second Americano. It just arrived. Shout-outs to Tamer, Maher, and Issac.

Everyone was friendly and helpful, but not in your face kind of way.

However, the star for us was Talal, who had set me up with WhatsApp and said to message if we needed anything. He made all of our dinner reservations, on occasion met us and drove us in the golf buggy to a restaurant, checked in with us each day, asking if we needed anything. He was lovely and made us feel super special, which we really thank him for.

Was Posh Club worth it?

Would we come back to Sharm and to White Hills? Yes we would. Would we book PC again? Yes, we would.

Top Tips for staying at White Hills

Book a swim-up room junior suite and ask for rooms 37101 to 37106 – these are close to the PC restaurant, have a sea view and are not as close to the beach as the other swim-up rooms so they are quieter.

I really recommend booking PC – you can have the best of both worlds.

Don’t be afraid to ask the PC team for anything. I took full advantage of the WhatsApp service – we were offered dinner one night at neighbouring Meraki, which was a nice change, so I would suggest asking if you could do this one evening.
